CE Event: Psychopharmacology Update for Psychologists

David J. Giard, MA, MSCP, CNU-PSYD Candidate

Bio: David Giard is currently a 4th year PsyD candidate at California Northstate University College of Psychology where he earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. He attended The Chicago School of Professional Psychology concurrently, earning his Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP). David has spoken nationally and internationally on topics including psychopharmacology,  predoctoral MSCP training, and psychological interventions promoting physical health. His research, clinical, and professional interests include the intersection of health and psychology, population health, disparities in care, program development, and preventative interventions.

His experience training thus far has focused on community health settings, particularly on underserved populations with extraordinarily complex and comorbid mental and physical health concerns. He has been involved in program development and is currently piloting a primary care behavioral health integration program focusing on increasing access to evidence-based mental health care and assessment. Simultaneously, he is working with a nonprofit dedicated to reducing disparities, building a resilience program designed for first-generation college students. Lastly, he has substantial experience in psychological and neuropsychological assessment, and with clinical research utilizing fMRI. David is also involved in and holds leadership positions in many local and national psychological and healthcare organizations.
